UPDATE FOR OCTOBER 2026:
We help everyone we can, but a few things to please remember — The Pongo Fund is a Volunteer driven group meaning we do not have an paid office staff. We work from a 4000 sf Pet Food Bank where we offer help by appointment per our schedule below. We also host several unscheduled PopUp Pet Food Banks each month. We also provide dog and cat food to many different human food banks and other social service and animal welfare groups. Based on our volunteer driven distribution model, many of the food banks and other groups we help don’t even realize that The Pongo Fund provides them with pet food. They just know that they have it, which is the most important thing. We are not a government agency and we do not receive government funding, and we are not a full-time pet food provider but rather a supplemental resource only. Our goal is simply to make sure there is high quality pet food in as many places as possible so we can help as many people and pets as possible. The Pongo Fund has provided more than 40 million high quality meals so far, and to better help the community we are further expanding our distribution network in 2026 and we have increased the amount of food we distribute. If you are requesting dog or cat food, please contact the human food banks or other social service or animal welfare groups in your area for pet food provided by The Pongo Fund. If those groups do not have dog or cat food, please ask them to contact The Pongo Fund.
IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST VISIT — PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THAT EXPLAINS HOW THINGS WORK BECAUSE WE THINK THAT IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO SHARE:
- If this is your first visit please call us at 503-939-7555 or email us at least 7 days in advance of our next pet food bank so we can complete paperwork and schedule an appointment.

- We return calls between 8am – 9pm. All calls are recorded for accuracy.
- We sometimes call back using a BLOCKED number. We are unable to change that, so if you do not answer blocked numbers, you may miss our call.

- Please note that in our effort to provide the best service, during our call we will ask questions of a personal nature about you and your pets. For example, we may ask what pet foods you feed, do your pets have any allergies, if your pets have been spayed or neutered, etc.
- PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE PONGO FUND WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT on your first visit, as we will not be able to help at that time.
